Key Responsibilities:
Soil Preparation:
Prepare fields for planting by tilling the soil, fertilizing, and setting up drip irrigation systems.
Planting and Transplanting:
Assist in planting onion seeds and transplanting seedlings as required.
Irrigation Management:
Operate and maintain the drip irrigation system to ensure adequate water supply to the crops.
Crop Maintenance:
- Perform regular weeding and other crop care activities to maintain healthy growth.
- Monitor crops for signs of diseases and pest infestations, and report to supervisors for prompt intervention.
Harvesting:
Assist in the harvesting of onions, including lifting, sorting, and packaging for sale and storage.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure all farm tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervisors.
General Farm Upkeep:
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the farm.
- Assist with the construction and repair of farm structures as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge:
Basic understanding of crop care and irrigation systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality crops.
